Abstract:
We study a disordered system through a recursion relation a generating  
function of the partition function satisfies. The main goal being  
analysing some asymptotic properties of this generating function. We  
then discuss the relationship of this problem to the problem of  
finding the asymptotic distribution of the maximum of a certain class  
of correlated random variables as well as how this problem gives rise  
to measures related to multiplicative cascade measures.
