Course Description: Why and how did the concept of meaning emerge in the analytic tradition? We will read together
Alberto J. Coffa's book The Semantic Tradition from Kant to Carnap: To the Vienna Station, a classic of analytic philosophy
that traces the emergence of semantics from its origins in Kantian philosophy, through the writings of Bolzano, Frege, and Carnap.
